Good chances at Otaki and Ellerslie tomorrow

Monday 2 November 2015

About to head off to Auckland with Miss Selby on the truck for tomorrow's $70,000 Group III Sofitel Luxury Hotels Stak

About to head off to Auckland with Miss Selby on the truck for tomorrow's $70,000 Group III Sofitel Luxury Hotels Stakes 2000m. It is a Weight for Age event and although she's not well weighted from a Ratings point of view she is a horse who has shown me in training that she should be there.

Although she enjoyed a stellar three year old season she had her share of issues last season and apart from her fresh up win August 2014 we never saw the best of her.

I'm looking forward to seeing the real Miss Selby show up tomorrow in what is a small quality field.

At Otaki we have our very own Jimmy Choux two year old having his first race. He's had several jumpouts, winning each of them and although I think he will develop into a much better three year we're looking forward to his first run.

I've always had a lot of time and a high opinion of Knight's Princess. Although she hasn't shown on the racetrack yet what we've seen in training this family has proven over and over again that time is their best friend. Going in fresh tomorrow over 1200m and will look to take advantage of a good draw.

Amalgamation is another of our three year olds with a big future. A suberb looking athletic horse from a great racing family. Will be putting his best foot forward tomorrow. Although wide draw not ideal Jonathan Riddell will get him into good spot and expect him to be coming hard on the line.

Queenofharpz....yet to get a decent barrier but with Rosie Myers back on board she will be finding the line very strongly. Rosie rode her into 2nd place in the Special Conditions Maiden on the first day of the Spring Carnival at Hastings....so know what's under the bonnet.
